Graduate by Hilton Seattle also on the UW campus
A little upscale, 1920’s charm.
Even if you don’t stay here, consider a fancy cocktail on their rooftop deck (one of Alison’s favorite happy hour spots). You will need reservations and to be escorted up from the lobby through the elevator.
Silver Cloud Hotel - University District
Near University Village.
This is fun hotel if you want to stay downtown. Alison, Colin, and Natalie have done staycations here, very nice spa-like pool, giant hot-tub, and great gym.
Courtyard by Marriott Seattle Northgate
A little outside Seattle but still considered very close, proximity to some commercial areas (closest Target) and the home of where the Kraken’s practice and where you can go ice skating in the old Northgate mall.
AirBnB
There are many neighborhoods in Seattle that are are close and reasonable to stay in. Near the University of Washington and the wedding venue are Laurelhurst, Ravenna, Wallingford, Fremont, and Green Lake. Ballard is a little farther but closer to the Puget Sound. All of these are north of the ship canal.
Farther north, is Northgate, Shoreline, and Lynnwood are northern suburbs of Seattle Shopping malls and restaurants you already know Natalie, Cora, and Lucy all shop in these areas. Light rail links these neighborhoods to UW and the airport
South of the city there are some newer neighborhoods.
Hip neighborhoods: Capital Hill - the hippest. Belltown - very urban, lots of restaurants, bars, and night life. Georgetown and Columbia City are newer neighborhoods with a lot of recent development.
On the water options on Lake Washington: Leschi, Madison Park, and farther north Matthews Beach. West Seattle gives you amazing views of the Olympics, and it’s own unique community. South Lake Union is home to Amazon and Google, lots of restaurants but also Lake Union which connects the Puget Sound to Lake Washington.
